Walking around Piazza del Signoria, it is not hard to spot that some signboards around the plaza get played. By adding some humor, the revised versions look more interesting and impressive.
In fact these are all the street art pieces done by the French artisit Clet Abraham! Having been living in Italy for more than 20 years, Clet has been working on “re-designing” the signboards since 2010. As an expert in visual art, through this action his purpose is to make these signboards really talk to people. As most of the time they are taken for granted and are not capable to deliver the message, Clet uses his creativities to make the signboards look funny and strange so as to catch people’s attention.
I found my first “Little-Worker” collection in last year Christmas holiday, and two more during my trip in June this year. Quite cool, isn’t it?!
When wandering around Florence, don’t forget to check out the signboards from time to time. Maybe a master piece of art is just around the corner! 🙂
This must be an Italian thing ha! I saw one of these signs in Naples changed so that it had Pac Man eating the line haha 🙂
